Trustee

A trustee holds legal title to property for the benefit of another (called a trust beneficiary). A trustee is held to a very high standard of care. A trustee must be extremely loyal to the trust beneficiary or beneficiaries, must not put his personal interests before those of the trust beneficiary or beneficiaries, and must not profit from his/her position as a trustee (outside of trustee's fees).

This brief overview of some important considerations associated with trustees is by no means comprehensive. Always seek the advice of a competent professional when making important financial and legal decisions.
